4" Hand Painted Raku Coaster with Raffia Wrap.

Each handcrafted Raku gift is fired in an outdoor kiln. Red hot, it is pulled from the kiln and placed into a pit with wood shavings. Each piece is hand formed and fired in an outdoor kiln to over 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. Molten hot, it is placed in a pit with dried brush and mesquite shavings that burst into flames. The varying conditions of the Raku process assure that each piece is "one-of-a-kind." The intense heat ignites a blaze giving this Raku piece unique flashes of color, making each truly a one-of-a-kind gift.
